About this fish
A seahorse with dark spots on its back. It lives in seagrass beds off the southern coast and Jeju, holding on to the grass with its tail. The male carries the eggs in a belly pouch and gives birth. Korea lists seahorses as protected marine species.
Catching one for real
🌿 Protected species. In the game it is released the moment you catch it and only goes in your log. In real life it can't be caught without a permit, and if one bites by accident you must let it go at once.
It's a protected marine species, so you can't catch or keep it without a permit. Seahorses almost never take bait; they usually come up when the hook snags seaweed. If that happens, put it straight back in the water, seaweed and all.
