About this fish
A large grouper living deep among rocky reefs, sometimes called dageumbari on Jeju. It's prized as a top-grade sashimi fish and can grow over a meter long.
Catching one for real
Use live bait on the deep bottom from rocks or a boat. Once hooked it dives into the rocks, so lifting it off the bottom quickly is key.
